Karma is considered a belief that whatever you do will come back to you, either in this life or the next. It is embraced by followers of Buddhism, Hinduism, and in modern days nearly everyone believes in some sort of karma. For example pagans/wiccans believe in "The Rule of Three, which states that whatever energy a person puts out into the world, be it positive or negative, will be returned to that person three times. Even some atheist will occasionally say to themselves its alright, karma will get them. Yet, from my experience karma works very differently.
In truth, our current understanding of Karma has lead me to conclude that karma doesn't really exist. Karma, as we know it today is an merely an vogue out-dated understanding of the law of attraction. People tend to use it as an excuse for why bad things happen to them, because they don't know why bad things happen to them. If you understand the law of attraction, its easy to believe you can create money and abundance, not so easy to except you create reality if you get cancer or sickness. Add to the mix an upbringing of fear and guilt and just about anyone will find themselves longing for a universe in which karma is the rule like it were a life raft for our sanity. In fact if karma was a universal law time would have to exist. Most scientist will agree that time is merely a perception, meaning time is most likely not a fundamental part of our universe. If you take time out of the equation, karma would not even function.
Karma also relies on our perception of good and bad. If someone does something perceived as bad, then their karma will also be bad. If someone does something perceived as good they will get good karma. The issue is that the universe doesn't work that way. What happens to you is a direct reflection of your vibration. There is no good or bad there is a vibration, and then there is how you feel about that vibration. Our feelings are our only true indication we have of right and wrong. Karma teaches that good is rewarded and bad is punished, which is a very man made concept and is not how our universe works. The universe will always give you what you desire and when it doesn't, that doesn't not imply its punishing you. It means you are in resistance to your desires.
Another issue is the fact karma is said to cross over from past lives. Why would it make sense for you to forget your past lives but still pay for those mistakes? Its implying yet again that the universe is punishing you. Also when this idea of karma was first being taught it was in places that put a huge amount of emphases on duty, honor, and social ranking. If you were rich you stayed rich and married rich. It was nearly impossible to move up in rank. They used this idea of karma to explain there position in life. If they were poor they figured they had been dishonorable or did something bad in a past life. When we die are slat is wiped clean, including the bad things we did. Everything we learn aids in the expansion of the universe.

Karma is simply just a flawed understanding of the law of attraction, which at first seems like the same thing, but its really not. Karma is said to be the result of actions. The universe doesn't understand action, it understands vibration. The law of attraction is different then karma because it creates our reality by mirroring the vibration we send out. There is no old karma which has to keep us down and punish us for past "sins" or "mistakes", everything is matter of our choice, our free will is the one which leads us. There is no punishment, just lessons to learn: our life is meant to be loving, blessed and compassionate experience, regardless of your actions. The universe is not punishing you, YOU are punishing you. Karma doesn't exist.
